I would not consider myself someone who is a “Bible Thumper” but I do turn to my bible often for guidance.
A while back, I saw this post on social media about how 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 was God’s guide to finding the perfect partner.
The way this works is you replace the word “love” with your partner’s name.
I absolutely love that however, what about you?
I am a firm believer that in a relationship, you must focus less on how you can change your spouse and focus more on how you can control your actions and reactions.
Are you able to meet all of those points?
Are you patient and kind?
Or are you envious, boastful or proud?
Relationships are a two way street. You cannot control the actions of another however, you can control your’s.
I will be the first to tell you, I am a work in progress. So is my husband but we are working on ourselves together.
Whether you’re single or in a relationship, being able to love yourself is so important. I mean, if you can’t love and accept yourself, how can someone else?
So, I am challenging you to focus more on your own character to align with God’s love for us all. It doesn’t happen overnight but by choosing to make positive steps towards loving yourself the way God illustrates love, the happier you’ll be in every relationship you have…
including the relationship you have with yourself.
